"Now living out of the nearby Naches, Washington, she has been sponsored by nod-worthy athletic brands like those of K2 Ski Alliance, Harvest Chevrolet, Eddie Bauer, Superfeet Worldwide, evo, SRAM and Clif Bar. She also founded Girls with Grit and co-founded MADE (Mahre Athletic Development Experience) with her husband around the Yakima Valley, offering ski and running clinics, alongside empowering retreats and private lessons for women, men and kids of all ages.
'Training changed my life when I was very young,”'Mahre said. 'But now as a coach, my goal is to help change women's lives and men's lives at any stage of their life, because it really can not only help them get fitter and healthier and accomplish great goals, but it's also a great outlet. I help other women get over their fears of how to get out by themselves or with their friends safely, and just getting women into training and getting them to be empowered to know that they can go do that kind of stuff, that they can run distances that they never, ever, ever thought they could.'
Mahre is incredibly passionate about recreation around and beyond the Yakima Valley, operating her own clinics throughout the year to help inspire men and women of all ages and skill levels. 'The body can do amazing things if the mind gets on board,' she said.”
